IGNOU BCA BCSP-64 Computer Application Projects

by | May 31, 2022 | IGNOU Projects & Synopsis | 0 comments

In today’s time, no one can deny the importance of the Computer. Be it depositing your electricity bill or booking a flight ticket, the knowledge of computer is needed now and then. Therefore, those who do not have the working knowledge of computers, find themselves lagging far in the pace of growth. Today’s students know the indispensability of computers and hence they want to develop their skills in computers.

Bachelor of Computer Applications is among those popular courses that apart from opening a floodgate of career opportunities, does also provide good knowledge of computer applications as well as software. IGNOU’s Project Report of the BCA program comprises two parts—synopsis(or project proposal) and project part.

However, it is important to mention here that preparing the work report for BCA is not an easy task. There are so many things involved in this—selecting a topic for creating a comprehensive summary of the task proposal, submitting it for approval, and then the writing. Writing is something that seems very difficult to those who are working professionals and hence they find it difficult to take time out of their busy schedules and start writing. Many students too find writing difficult due to  lack of understanding of proper knowledge of the project or the language itself.

Type of Project

Though it is not mandatory, but advisable that the students of BCA BCSP-64 should choose a project based on day-to-day activities. It should be a real-life project related to some industry or research. It could also be from educational institutions or some software companies. Simply put, your project should have some direct connections to the present-day situations.

It is not that you have to do it all on your own. There will be a Guide for your help. Your Guide will help you formulate your project report.

Preparation

Preparation is a very crucial stage for the IGNOU BCSP-64 PROJECT. While selecting a particular topic for this project, the student should not imitate others. Rather, they should choose a particular area in, which they are passionate about or interested. Once they find their area of interest, they can select a particular topic for their project work after consultation with their guide. Mind, the project proposal is the outline of thoughtful observation, careful planning, and effective execution by the learners.

  • Include the software development

In addition to these, your project proposal should contain the following:

  5. A complete structure that includes:
  • Number of modules and their description for providing an estimation of the student's effort on the project.
  • Data Structures as per the project requirements for all the modules.
  • Process Logic of each module.
  • Testing process to be used.
  • Reports generation ( Mention tentative content of the report)
  • Tools / Platform, Hardware, and Software Requirement specifications
  • Are you doing this project for any Industry/Client? Write Yes/No. If it is Yes, do not forget to mention the Name and Address of the Industry or Client
  • Scope and further improvement of the project.

Project Proposal Submission And Approval

After finalizing the topic, the students should send the Project Proposal Proforma  along with the synopsis as well as a CV of the guide to the Regional Director of the concerned Regional Centre after they complete the project in all aspects. Any incomplete project gets rejected.

Communication of Approval

After you get the receipt of the project proposal by the concerned Regional Centre, you will be communicated about the approval/non-approval of the project within one month.

Resubmission of the Project Proposal in Case of Non-Approval

If your project gets approval, well and good. But, if it is rejected, you will get suggestions for reformulating the project. In that situation, you will need to carry out the suggested changes, prepare a revised project synopsis in addition to a new Performa, and then re-submit it along with a copy of the earlier synopsis non-approval project proposal Performa.

In the absence of such a letter, the student needs to attach the code compulsorily.

Submission of Project Report

You should submit one copy of your project report through the registered insured post at the following address:

To,
The Regional Director
Concerned Regional Centre
Date(as mentioned in the calendar for the project)

Project Evaluation

The Project Report is of 150 marks whereas Viva-Voce comprises 50 marks. For the successful submission of the Project, the student needs to secure at least 50% in both project and viva-voce. You will get intimated about the schedule of viva-voce through a letter from your Regional Centre.

If your project gets rejected for one reason or the other, you can either re-submit the project after carrying out all the suggested changes, or start working on an entirely different project. Make sure that you strictly adhere to the BCSP-064 project guidelines.

Be mindful of any copied version of the project synopsis as it may be sent to the Unfair Means Committee of IGNOU and create trouble for you.

Resubmission of the BCA Project in Case of Failed Students

If you fail(god forbid!) to clear the project, you might need to re-do the whole chain of works—right from the synopsis. You will need to select a new topic for the project and prepare and submit your synopsis in the Regional Centre located in your city. It is important to mention here that there are no separate slots for the submission of the project synopsis for those who fail to clear the project report. You will need to re-submit your synopsis and the project report following the "calendar for the BCA project" as clearly stated in the project guidelines.

You will need to remit the pro-rata fee along with the resubmission of the project report. However, for the exact amount of fees, you will need to remain in touch with your Regional Centre for an update on the number of fees. You can remit your fees to your Regional Centre at the time of re-submission of the project report through DD(Demand Draft) favouring IGNOU payable at your regional centre.

In case of enquiries related to your Project Report and Viva-Voce, send your enquiry to the Regional Director of your Centre. Do not forget to quote your Enrolment Number in your correspondence.
