PART B (Practical Exercises)

There are four exercises in this part. You have to attempt all the questions.

1. Visit a fair price shop and another regular retail shop in your locality and record the prices at which the following commodities are sold in these two shops (Remember the quality of commodity selected in these two shops should be the same). Comment on your observation. (Refer to Unit 3)

2. a) Visit your nearest Primary Health Centre / Mohalla Clinic and record the ante-natal and post-natal services provided to pregnant and lactating women under the ICDS scheme.
b) Visit any Anganwadi centre (under ICDS) near you and enlist the activities carried out and the beneficiaries availing the facilities.

3. Prepare a plan for a model kitchen garden. Give details of different fruits and vegetables which can be grown in the summer season. (Refer to Unit 2)

4. Collect three different samples ( packed and loose both ) of milk, turmeric, yellow dal and coffee powder and carry out simple tests to detect adulteration at home (Refer to DART Book (fssai.gov.in).

1. Prepare food budget for your family for one month. (Refer to Unit-1 for guidance on preparing a food budget)

2. Visit an anganwadi centre functioning under ICDS programme in your city. Prepare a list of services provided in the centre. Collect information about different beneficiaries and the services provided to them in the given format.

3. Visit a fair price shop functioning under Public Distribution System in or around your locality/area. Identify the food items and the cost of items being sold at the fair price shop. Also identify the beneficiaries. Present your answer in a tabular form.

4. Visit your nearby market and identify different products of fishes and poultry sold in market. Also describe the characteristic features of the product.

2. अपने शहर में आईसीडीएस कार्यक्रम के तहत काम करने वाले आंगनवाड़ी केंद्र जाये। केंद्र में प्रदान की जाने वाली सेवाओं की सूची तैयार करें। दिए गए प्रारूप में विभिन्न लाभार्थियों और उन्हें प्रदान की जाने वाली सेवाओं के बारे में जानकारी एकत्र करें।

3. अपने इलाके / क्षेत्र में या उसके आसपास सार्वजनिक वितरण प्रणाली के तहत काम करने वाली उचित मूल्य की दुकान पर जाएं। उचित मूल्य की दुकान पर बेची जा रही खाद्य वस्तुओं और वस्तुओं की लागत की पहचान कीजिए। लाभार्थियों की पहचान भी करें। अपने उत्तर को सारणीबद्ध रूप में प्रस्तुत करें।
