COVID-19 Guidelines for Students in Exam Centers

Published on Thursday April 7, 2022 12:33 by Umesh Singla

The government has announced the Covid-19 guidelines for students to follow while writing exam centers. These simple measures are taken to lower the risk rate of COVID-19. These measures must be observed by all students and staff in the exam centers.

Since large people will be gathering to attend the examinations, it is advisable to follow certain guidelines to prevent COVID 19 among the masses.

Now that we have mentioned that guidelines have to be followed let's move to the article to learn what they are.

General Preventive Measures

Maintain Physical distance:

Physical distancing is an important rule that students must follow. There must be at least 6 feet gap/distance between each student.

Use face covers:

Wearing face covers is mandatory. Only when you wear, you can reduce the risk of spreading the virus.

Wash your hands frequently:

Practice washing your hands with soap frequently for at least 20 to 40 secs even when if you feel that your hands are dirty. Usage of alcohol-based hand sanitizers is recommended.

Spitting is strictly prohibited:

You are not allowed to spit anywhere on the campus.

Monitor your health:

Keep monitoring your health and report if you feel any change in your health condition.

Planning of Examinations

  • The centers that are located outside the containment zone will be allowed to function. Also, students or staff from the containment zone will not be allowed to write the exams. Such students will be allowed to undertake exams through other means, or the concerned educational institution should make the required arrangements.
  • The universities or educational institutions that conduct the exams must see that they avoid overcrowding.
  • Seating arrangements must be made properly. Each room must have adequate capacity to seat students, ensuring that overcrowding is avoided.
  • The educational institutions must provide the necessary things for personal protection like face masks, hand sanitisers, soap, etc. for both students and staff.
  • The students attending the exams must be given prior information on what to carry along with them to the exam hall.

Entry and Exit to the Examination Center

  • The entrances of the exam centers must have sanitizers and thermal screening provisions. If any centre doesn't have this provision, it shall not be allowed entry.
  • Only asymptomatic students and staff will be allowed inside the exam hall.
  • The symptomatic students must be referred to the nearest health centre and  attend the examination through universities or educational institutions.
  • There must be enough entry and exit gates for the students so that overcrowding must be avoided.
  • Specific markings have to be made with sufficient distance so that social distances are ensured.
  • Mobile phones, books, and bags are not allowed inside the exam centre.

Conclusion

These are some of the guidelines given for the students who attend the exam during the pandemic situation. Since the lockdown has been relaxed in many places now, the spreading rate is high. Hence, it is mandatory to follow these precautionary steps and guidelines to prevent the spreading of COVID-19. Prevention is always better than cure.
