The Master’s Degree in English (MEG) Programme aims to give the learners a sound understanding of English and American literature and other new areas in literature such as Canadian, Australian, and Indian English. The learners are expected to develop confidence in their critical and analytical abilities.
Good knowledge of reading, comprehension and writing skills would be a pre-requisite for this Programme. A student can obtain an MA degree in English by taking 8 courses (of 8 credits, each is equal to 64 credits) in all. (Five of these are compulsory). For the remaining three, the student has a choice from a number of optional courses. Some more optional courses are under preparation.
