Indira Gandhi National Open University has extended its outreach beyond the borders of the country. The globalization of higher education, particularly through the distance mode of delivery, has given an altogether different perspective to the cross-border delivery of IGNOU’s academic programs in various countries. The international division has expanded its academic courses and different regional centers in various parts of South Asia, the Middle East and African nations.
IGNOU offers around 60 academic programs to its overseas / FSRI students. Currently, IGNOU’s Academic Programs are on offer in the U.A.E. (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, & Ras Al Khaimah. Qatar, Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Bahrain, and Sultanate of Oman among the Gulf countries; Mauritius, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and Seychelles among the Island nations; Ethiopia, Kenya, and Ivory Coast in Africa, Nepal, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka among the SAARC countries, and Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan in the Central Asian countries. IGNOU offers comprehensive training in the Open Learning systems and Distance Education methodologies to the Open University personnel overseas.
OM or Operations Management is a post-graduate degree conferred to the students. Like any other college course, PGDOM is also a one-year course.
With the academic session of July 2019, the IGNOU has adopted the Choice Based Credit System presented by the University Grants Commission. The Choice-based Credit System, which is on offer at the Post Graduation level, gives adaptability to the students to study the subjects/courses of their needs and interests.
Graduation in any discipline with 50 % marks for the general category and 45 % for a reserved category with 3 years (post qualification) managerial/supervisory/professional experience.

Professional Degree with 50% marks in:2. Engineering/ Medicine/ Chartered Accountancy (ICAI)/ Cost and Works Accountancy(ICWAI)/ Chartered Secretary-ship (ICSI) and Law.
