Indira Gandhi National Open University adopts its own mechanism. The grade card calculator of IGNOU, 2022 assigns a particular weightage to different components of a candidate’s academic work done during the course of his/her study at the university. The marks to be awarded to the candidate are then calculated using these weights and added together to determine the final percentage of the candidate. IGNOU grade card calculator 2022 also follows a grade chart on the basis of which it awards grades to students according to the percentages scored by them.
Now coming to the grade card calculator of IGNOU 2022, candidates first will have to refer to the weightage breakup given below.

As mentioned above, the marks in assignments will be given 30% weightage and the marks in TEE theory examination will be given 70% weightage.
So, for example, if a candidate has 90 marks in the assignments in the grade card, he/she will be awarded 27 marks and if a candidate has 70 marks in the TEE theory examination in the grade card, he/she will be awarded 49 marks. So the total marks for that course will be (27+49) 76 marks.
Using the same process, candidates need to calculate the marks for all IGNOU courses and add them up.
To calculate the percentage, candidates will have to divide the total marks by 1200.
IGNOU also has its own grading chart which it uses to award grades to students on the basis of the final percentage scored by them. Given below are the percentage brackets.
Candidates should remember that the marks mentioned in the IGNOU grade card for each IGNOU assignment and term-end theory examination are double the marks mentioned in the results. So for example, if for a course, the maximum marks are 50 and the marks obtained are 40, the grade card will show marks obtained to be 80.
For the final calculation, the grade card calculator of IGNOU 2019 takes into account the marks given in the grade card. As per the weightage breakup and calculation scheme, these marks will be converted and then added up for the final marks.
In case, candidates are not satisfied with the grade card and results, they can get in touch with the evaluation center and request for revaluation of answer scripts by submitting a form (available online) and applicable fee charges (Rs. 750 per course).
Candidates can also ask for photocopies of answer scripts by getting in touch with the evaluation center and submitting a request with the help of a form (available online) and paying the applicable fee charges (Rs. 100 per course).
IGNOU also allows candidates to apply for a duplicate IGNOU grade card in case they have misplaced or lost it. In that case, candidates will have to submit a request and draft a DD in favor of IGNOU payable in ‘New Delhi’ for Rs 250.
The final grade will be awarded on the basis of the final percentage obtained by candidates. The final percentage will be calculated by adding up the scores (converted as per the weightage) of all assignments, practicals, and theory examinations. The university will use the aforementioned grading chart to award the final grade to students.
