One of the crucial questions that hits an IGNOU student after he/she completes an exam is, "How does IGNOU issue a degree mark sheet?" So, this article is here to clear all your queries regarding your Marksheet & certificate. Without further adieu, let's move on to the topic.
Well, as mentioned earlier, this is the most common question for IGNOU students. So the answer to this is, there is no particular procedure that a student needs to follow or submit an application to get their mark sheet or certificate. The distribution of the IGNOU mark sheet and certificates is completely automatic, and you will get it through Indian post to your registered address.
The mark sheet's dispatching starts only after the declaration of the complete result is updated at the IGNOU site. The mark sheet and certificate take at least 40 days to get dispatched to the respective addresses. Also, the time duration may vary as everyone isn't coming from different places. So don't panic if your friend receives the certificate before you. You can have a word with the post office near your house and regularly check whether the mark sheet is delivered or not.
IGNOU has come up with a tracking facility where students can now easily track your mark sheet's status and know whether it is dispatched or not using the link provided.
On the off chance, if you aren't able to check your mark sheet status, then it is understood that either your mark sheet is not dispatched yet by the university or it is ready to collect at your regional center.
After you get your mark sheet delivered to your address, you need to check three important things to verify that your mark sheet is error-free.
First, verify your name, course code, mark percentage, and the respective grade correctly printed on your mark sheet.
Cross-check whether the same mark is printed as shown on the IGNOU site result page.
Lastly, confirm whether the term and exam session are written correctly.
Suppose you spot any error in the mark sheet. In that case, you need to contact your regional center to correct by applying with relevant documents, and don't forget to pay the fees for this process.
If you don't like to wait until your mark sheet gets delivered to your address and want to collect your IGNOU mark sheet in person, you can directly collect them from the university. So, visit the IGNOU head office and the concerned department.
Note: This option is for students who are planning to pursue further studies or get placed in a job.
Well, you have waited for 40 days, and still, if you didn't get your mark sheet, then you can raise a request or a complaint at igram.ignou.ac.in, or you can email to [email protected] (or) mdresult.ac.in and get in touch with the concerned authority inquiring about it.
If you miss the original mark sheet that IGNOU allotted you, you can download the duplicate mark sheet available from the official website of IGNOU.
So to do this,
Visit the IGNOU official site >> click on the "duplicate mark sheet of IGNOU" link >> tick on the term and condition option and get the IGNOU grade card. >> Enter the details >> Complete the payment >> Click on OK button.
And you are done. IGNOU will now send the duplicate grade card to your residential address in a few days.
Any student who has completed their term semester examination will get their provisional mark sheet from IGNOU's head office. Students need to remember that this is an offline process, and each student will be getting their mark sheet from the IGNOU head office, New Delhi. Students need not pay an early visit to their regional center enquiring about the mark sheet and certificate.
