About Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education (PGDHE)
The PGDHE is intended for those planning to teach or are already in a position to teach in an institution of higher learning.
Initially recommended by the National Policy on Education (1986) and endorsed by the Rastogi Committee on teachers in higher education, the PGDHE has been recognized by the UGC as equivalent to an Orientation Programme and two Refresher Courses of the Academic Staff College. PGDHE has a one-year duration.
The program is designed for:
a) A teacher who works in a university, college, or other institution of higher education.
b) Those with a postgraduate degree in any field with at least a second division should apply.
c) Those who have a professional degree in a field such as Engineering, Medicine, Agricultural Science, or Law, can apply for this position.
