Indira Gandhi National Open University has prolonged its outreach beyond the borders of the country. IGNOU BAG  Overview

BAG or Bachelor of Arts General is a college degree presented to the students of Humanities. This is one of the most famous courses among students. Like any other college course, BAG also is a three-year degree course and can be done by taking honours or passing subjects. Students pursuing it as honours have to take at least one or more subjects as a Major.

With the educational session of July 2022, the IGNOU has adopted the Choice Based Credit System offered by  the University Grants Commission. The Choice-based Credit System, which's on offer for the Diploma degree, offers adaptability to the students to examine the subjects/publications in their needs and pursuits.

Objectives: The Bachelor of Arts programme is a broad-based programme with a mix of disciplinary, interdisciplinary and skill-based courses. It has the following objectives:

  • Introduce the learners to the main themes and topics of disciplines in humanities, social sciences  and sciences,
  • Provide the learners with the information and skills necessary to understand and analyse the world,
  • Enable the  learners to work towards ability and skill  enhancement  through exposure
  • Impart reading and writing skills through assignments and exercises of  such kind at an  undergraduate

Learners opting for B.A. Psychology courses with a Practicum component are required to pay an extra fee of Rs.600/- each in the first and second year.
