Indira Gandhi National Open University, popularly known as IGNOU is one of the most talked-about universities in India. As the name suggests, it conducts various university-level entrance exams for candidates to provide admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate and other courses in the field of science, education, management, commerce, etc.
Every year, many candidates can fill out the application form to get admission to their interested programmes through correspondence mode. However, there are study centres as well that facilitates classroom study, usually on Sundays.
Studying through IGNOU also includes IGNOU counselling, counselling schedule, the process of counselling etc.
The counselling process is conducted at various regional centres of Indira Gandhi National Open University and applicants who have successfully submitted the admit card along with all the required documents, get called for the counselling process.
There are six counselling sessions of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration for each course in face-to-face mode. Candidates get selected on the basis of their regional qualification in the entrance examination. If a seat remains vacant after the first round of counselling, other counselling procedures might be conducted to retain students.
