IGNOU MS-100 (HRM) Project – Recruitment & Selection Process at NBCC

“Practice is what we do…and must understand. Therefore, HRD practice informs the field.” The recruitment and selection process of the company determines the level of achieving organisational goals in the long run. As per definition, it is stated that it is an all about selecting right person for the right job at the right time at the best possible position. Although it sounds quite simple but it is also not an easy job to evaluate a person with his ability and skills that may satisfy the core competency for the job so that his degree of willingness to pursue a job becomes positive. From job seeker’s prospective, it is the core competencies which matter much for a job. So it is the effective recruitment and selection procedure which determines not only the right candidature for a job but also a long-term accomplishment of organisational goals.

Objectives

• My primary objective here is to study and observe the recruitment and selection process of NBCC under the following heads:
• To study the concept and principle of recruitment process.
• To assess the advantages and disadvantages of the present recruitment process.
• If appropriate, to recommend some constructive suggestions in the recruitment process of the organisation.
• To study the role of trade union in the company, if any.
• To study the employee’s turnover.
• To recommend a process intervention for recruitment and selection for organisational development.
• Finally, to conclude the findings and suggest any recommendations regarding the future growth prospects.
