IGNOU PTS-05 Project – People’s View on Ecotourism in Dubai

Tourism is one of the world's fastest growing industries as well as the major source of foreign exchange earnings and employment for many developing countries. At present, poverty and environmental problems are some of the most important challenges human society is facing. It is difficult to address both problems at the same time because these two problems sometimes conflict.

Objectives

• The study has been undertaken with regard to the following objectives:
• To create awareness among traders/public about the main eco-tourism places in Dubai;
• To understand how ecotourism conserve and preserve natural and cultural environment;
• To assess initiatives taken by the state government as well as innovative private parties to promote the tourism industry in Dubai.
