Leadership development has now become the top priority for HR (human resource) professionals with emphasis on leadership as a core capability of all employees across sectors. This new trend has replaced engagement, according to a survey conducted by the Top Employers Institute globally.
There is also a shift towards individuals being responsible for their own development needs. This leads to customized leadership development programmes. Many highgrowth organizations in India have a relatively large proportion of millennials in leadership positions. They drive the change in leadership development methods as they prefer to use innovative means for personal development over traditional methods such as formal workshops, training courses and development assignments, in line with the global trend of developing leadership skills individually.
With companies becoming less hierarchical and opting for flatter structures, it is noticeable that they are starting to identify future leaders not by job title or position but by influence and performance. And those future leaders are beginning to get the opportunity to gain broader life and commercial skills, and to step outside their comfort zone, by undertaking challenging projects, either inside the organization or externally, usually outside the scope of their main role. Treatment options for the depressed child Psychotherapy or talk therapy has by far been the most effective in treating the depressed child. Under talk therapy we have cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy and what Dr John White, psychiatrist and author of the book The Masks of Melancholy, calls grief work. Talk therapy in a nutshell essentially helps a child deal with negative thinking and distorted interpretations of their world. Leading researcher Dr. Paul O' Callaghan in his work among sexually abused children of the Democratic Republic of Congo was immensely successful as he used psychotherapy. Children were encouraged to draw pictures of their traumatic experiences and were encouraged to talk about their feelings in individual sessions.
The use of antidepressants in children is widely debated. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warns against its use among children citing severe side effects. However, antidepressants are still used in very severe cased of depression in children. Parents are often the last to recognize depression in their children and the frustrations of dealing with a depressed child may compound the difficulty before they become fully aware of it. I hope this article will help some parent somewhere to recognize a depressed child and help them overcome their depression.

साइकोथेरेपी या बातचीत इलाज तनावग्रस्त बच्चे के इलाज की सबसे उत्तम विधि है। इसमें ज्ञानात्मक इलाज, व्यवहार संबंधी चिकित्सा व जिसे मनोचिकित्सक व द मॉस्क ऑफ मेलनकोली के लेखक डॉक्टर जॉन व्हाईट, विषाद वर्णन कहते हैं शामिल हैं बातचीत से इलाज मूलतः बच्चे को नकारात्मक सोच और अपनी दुनिया की विकृत व्याख्याओं से बचाती है। ख्यात अनुसंधित्सु डाक्टर पाल ओ केलेघन ने डेमोक्रेटिक रिपब्लिक ऑफ कांगो में यौन शोषण से ग्रसित बच्चों के बीच दीर्घावधि तक कार्य किया। उनका अनुभव है यह कि साइकोथेरेपी ने इन बच्चों को सामान्य जीवन जीने में सहायता की। बच्चों से यह कहा गया कि वे जिस भयावह अनुभाविकता से गुजरे हैं, उसके चित्र बनाएं और उसके बारे में बात करें। जाहिर है कि यह बातचीत अकेले में की जाती थी।
बच्चों के अवसाद के इलाज के लिए तनाव अवरोधक (एन्टीडिप्रेसेंट) दवाओं का प्रयोग किया जाना चाहिए अथवा नहीं, इस पर गंभीर मतभेद हैं। अमेरिका का फूड एंड ड्रग एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन इसके खिलाफ है क्योंकि इन दवाओं के ढेर सारे साइड इफेक्ट्स होते हैं । परंतु गंभीर रूप से तनावग्रस्त बच्चों के इलाज के लिए एंटीडिप्रेसेंट दवाओं का प्रयोग किया जाता है।
अक्सर माता-पिता अपने बच्चों में तनाव के लक्षण पहचान नहीं पाते और तनावग्रस्त बच्चे के लालन-पालन में आने वाली कठिनाइयां उन्हें कुंठित - परेशान करती हैं। हमें उम्मीद है कि यह अनुच्छेद, माता-पिता को उनके बच्चों में तनाव के लक्षणों की पहचान करने में मदद करेगा और वे अपने बच्चों को तनाव से मुक्त कर सकेंगे।

After Independence, India adopted its Constitution on November 26, 1949 that laid the foundation of independent India. The juncture of India's Independence was an extremely challenging moment. A nation had just been formed after a painful separation of one part of the erstwhile unified territory. The challenges came from multiple directions. On the one hand was a newly formed nation with myriad of problems like poverty, large scale illiteracy and the agonising suffering of a long colonial rule. But on the other hand was the aspiration of the new Indian polity, the deep desire to take the newly formed nation to great heights.
Our great leaders who steered us through the struggle of had foresight of what our polity should be. The Constitution was expected to shape a nation, nurture a society and guide future generations for times to come. The Drafting Committee of the Constitution held 141 meetings over a period of 2 years 11 months and 17 days, and gave us the basic draft comprising a Preamble, 395 Articles and 8 Schedules. This was indeed the fetus from which the polity of our great nation was born. Since its adoption, the Constitution of the country has stood firmly to maintain the unity and integrity of the nation and at the same time has shown flexibility to ensure the much required socio-economic transformation. Several amendments have also been made in the Constitution according to the times.
Today, Indian democracy not only stands strong in the face of many challenges time throws in its way, but has also carved out a unique identity for itself at the global level – credit for which goes to the strong structure and institutional set up provided by our Constitution. The Constitution of India provides for socio-economic and political democracy. It underlines the commitment of the people of India to achieve various national goals with a peaceful and democratic approach.
As a matter of fact, our Constitution is not just a legal document, but it is an important instrument that protects the freedom of all sections of society and provides every citizen the right of equality without discriminating on the basis of caste, creed, sex, region, sect or language and ensures that nation remains on the path of progress and prosperity. Even with a large number of voters and an ongoing continual election process, our democracy has never fallen prey to instability; instead the successful conduct of elections proves that our democracy has withstood the test of time. During this democratic journey spread over seven decades, 17 Lok Sabha and more than 300 state assembly elections have taken place in the country. Indian democracy has demonstrated to the world, how political power can be transferred in a peaceful manner
The separation of powers among the state components has been well defined in Indian Constitution. The domains of the three organs of the state namely legislature, executive and Judiciary have their own distinct and independent identity and they are sovereign in their respective sphere.
The Constitution of India lays special emphasis on the interests of citizens and the provisions of fundamental rights, as enshrined from Article 12 to Article 35 in Part Ill of the Constitution, are a major evidence of this. These provisions ensure that all the citizens of India are treated equally thus work as a unifying force. Today, our Constitution guarantees six fundamental rights: right to equality, right to freedom, right against exploitation, right to freedom of religion, cultural and educational rights, and right to constitutional remedies.
Our Constitution along with the fundamental rights also imposes a number of fundamental duties on its citizens. Citizens should also adhere to certain basic norms of democratic conduct and behavior, as rights and duties go hand in hand. We have our rights and they will always remain with us, but if we as citizens are able to adhere to our duties and act accordingly, this century will certainly be the century of India.

Appreciate your child's uniqueness :
Each child is unique. I can see this in my own tow kids. My daughter loves to be outdoors, she is an introvert and is sensitvie. She loves to paint and dance. On the other hand, my son is outgoing and social, and he loves cooking. Storytelling helps to put my daughter to bed but it only ends up making my son more excited and continue playing. Everyone keeps quiet so that he can settle down and go to sleep. So, when my son was born, it was altogether a new learning experience. I realized that you couldn't have a twenty-point manual on parenting to help you to be the ideal parent. We all learn from our mistakes.
Take time off for yourself :
Being always closeted with the kids, with no time for yourself, will leave you frustrated and this will show in your interactions with them. Take time off for yourself and never feel guilty about it. Find ways to spend the time depending on your situation – work, study, exercise, meet friends. choose what gives you joy, not something that adds to the stress. Get as much help and support as possible from family and friends.

अपने बच्चे के अलगपन का आदर करो: हर बच्चा पृथक-पृथक होता है। यह मैं अपने बच्चों में देखती हूँ। मेरी लड़की समय गृह से बाहर व्यतीत करने की इच्छुक रहती करती है। वह अंदर की ओर तथा और संवेदन वाली है। उसकी चित्रकला और नृत्य में अभिरूचि है। वहीं, मेरे लडके को समाज से मिलना-जुलना अधिक सुंदर लगता है और खाना पकाना काफी पसंद है। जब मैं कोई कहानी कहती हूँ तो उसे सुनते हुए मेरी लड़की निद्रा हेतु चली जाती है, किंतु मेरा लडका और उत्तेजित हो जाता है खेलने लगता है। फिर हम सब बंद कर देते है बोलना और वह सोने चला जाए। जब मेरे लडका का जन्म हुआ तब वह अपने साथ मेरे लिए कई नई चीजें सीखने का मौका लेकर आया। मुझे यह समझ आ गया कि तुम्हें आदर्श माता बनाने के लिए बीस प्वाइंट वाला प्रतिवेदन तैयार नहीं किया जा सकता। हम सब अपनी गलतियों से अभिगम करते हैं।
खुद के लिए समय रखो : सदैव अपने बच्चों के साथ ही हमेशा समय बिताने और स्वयं के लिए समय बिल्कुल न निकालने से बहुत परेशान हो जाएगी आप और बच्चों के साथ यह आपके व्यवहार को दूषित करेगा भी। कुछ समय अपने लिए निकालें और ऐसा करने पर अपराधबोध नपालें। इस समय का क्या क्या उपयोग हो यह आपकी परिस्थिति पर खड़ा होता है। आप इस दौरान कोई काम कर सकती हैं, पढ सकते हैं, मेहनत कर सकते हैं या मित्रों से मिल सकती हैं। कोई ऐसा काम चुनो जो आपको खुशी दे न सिर्फ ऐसा जो आपके अवशाद को बढ़ा दे। परिवारजनों वालों और मित्रों से जितनी संभव हो उतनी मदद और सहयोग लो।
