With the rapid growth of IGNOU, a Student Centre was needed where students could get answers to their questions and concerns. The IGNOU Student Service Centre (SSC) was born of this need. Students who are facing difficulties or find it difficult to receive regular updates can visit the official websites of IGNOU or SSC for assistance.
A regular degree course requires you to go to college and be guided by several tutors, managers, and other students. However, the situation is entirely different for students who pursue distance education and find it hard to get updates or information from their university.
Although IGNOU students attend IGNOU's regional centres, most will not contact the institution directly. The study centre sometimes assists them, but they rely on it for any information they require. To make the information about IGNOU courses and other things available to students, IGNOU has introduced a Student Service Centre.
IGNOU has a service centre at its headquarters committed to supporting students despite having many regional and study centres across the country. Students can here ask questions, get advice, and get counselling if necessary.
In 1999, IGNOU established its student service centre at its headquarters in memory of its founder and vice-chancellor, Professor Ram Reddy.
The SSC serves as an intermediary between the student and the university. Besides providing accurate information to students, the centre also provides support services for students pursuing degrees at IGNOU.
You can send your queries to the IGNOU student service centre via Post, Fax, Emails, SMS, WhatsApp, Telephone Calls, Online Portals like PG portal, INGRAM Portal, RTI-MIS Portal, IGRAM Portal, National Scholarship Portal and e-district Portal, etc. The center also offers in-person assistance.
IGNOU has entrusted various offices to support the SSC in its operations; nodal persons are assigned to attend to students with any problems or queries concerning their studies at the various regional centres, study centres, schools, divisions, etc. Thus, this student center can become a more active member of the Grievance Redressal Network of the University.
Students can get answers to any questions they may have online through the university's official website. Follow these directions:
You will get to the SSC page. This page contains detailed information about SSC. Alternatively, you can contact the relevant personnel by email or telephone.
