Comprising four blocks or sections, BSOC–133 imparts knowledge about sociology's various theories and practices. It covers the works of Karl Marx, Emile Durkheim and Max Weber. The key topics taught in BSOC–133 are dialectical materialism, class and struggle, social fact, forms of solidarity, social actions, ideal types, power, authority, religion and economy.
