Description
The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad has been encouraging effective waste management practices in order to minimize adverse environmental, cultural, social and economic effects of solid waste disposal. There is an immediate need for improving the system in order to bridge the demand supply gap. The city does not have an engineered or scientific landfill site and the capacity of the existing dumpsite cannot cater to the future demand of the waste generated. unicipal authorities have called for identifying potential landfill sites to cater to the increasing amount of municipal solid waste of the city. The existing dump sites are not "engineered" in nature. In addition space and capacity constraints necessitate the requirement for establishing a scientific landfill site.
