Description
Women constitute 48.6% (405.1 Million) of the rural population, whereas the male population stands at 51.4% (427.9 Million) which projects a sex ratio of 947 (Census 2011). The multiple attempts made by the government have not been able to curb the growing regional, gender and economic differences which throw a spanner in the prosperity of the health sector. The urban regions, where a measly 31.16% of the total population resides, manifest roughly 75% of the country’s health infrastructure, medical man power and other health facilities.
