Description
This study is an inquiry to understand the challenges of access to safe water and urban water delivery systems in India. It examines through an analysis of a community water initiative in Cuttack, Odisha the debates around the issues of access to water and develops an urban understanding of drinking water .It examines primarily the interface between drinking water availability and the poor residing in low-income settlements of a city. The study also seeks to understand (i) the water provisioning network in urban areas and the significance of community water interventions; and(ii)the social and political impacts of a community water intervention on people’s lives.
